“The Bharuch mission with SaDilKa was one of the most amazing opportunities to provide care as a prospective medical student with a group of incredible health professionals.
During my time in Bharuch I was able to see countless families, having travelled from all over the country, come to the clinic and receive necessary urology and oculofacial surgeries free of charge. It was a joy not only to witness the procedures, but also to hear patient’s stories and I was once again reminded of the beauty of the medical profession in its ability to lift people at their most vulnerable.
Furthermore, the folks who coordinated the camp from India were some of the most remarkable people I have come across. From the doctors to the cooks who prepared and served the food, they were motivated by nothing except a desire to help and give back to their community and I felt floored by that level of empathy and compassion.
I am so insanely grateful to the Gupta family for making me part of something this special. This trip will forever serve as a motivator for me to serve the underserved and thus hold a special place in my heart.”
